Nikolaus Pevsner’s classic An Outline of European Architecture (Pelican Books, 1957, 7th revised edition) presents the history of architecture in Europe form the Twilight and Dawn through the centuries until the 1950s. As stated on the back cover, “the book tells the story of architecture by concentrating on outstanding buildings, and reads exceedingly well in its concentration and its combination of warmth and scholarship”.
The text is in English. The book has been illustrated with black-and-white photographs and some architectural drawings.
The copy in our stock is still in usable condition. The pages show toning and have some pencil underlinings and notes; there is a signature on the first flyleaf. The glueing of the binding is mostly fine, but there are some fragile spreads, however. The covers show shelf wear and edge wear and their printing is a bit faded.
