The timber prize is an architectural prize founded by Träinformation to promote good architecture in wood and the development of timber building techniques. The Timber Prize is awarded every fourth year. This book – Architecture in Wood: The Timber Prize 1996 presents some of the 221 projects submitted (…) the nominated projects represent a cross section of Swedish timber building which spans from country cottages through private houses, museums, a library and a sports hall to a university college building. Among the designers are such architects as Carl Nyrén, Begt Lindroos, Per Friberg, Ragnar Uppman, Niels Torp, Krister Bjurström & Bertil Brodin, Anders Landström, Dag Cavallius, Lars Johansson & Mikael Uppling.

The text is in English. The book is richly illustrated with colour photos and architectural drawings.
