Arquitecturas catalanas, by Helio Piñón (La Gaya Ciencia 1977), is a critical and theoretical study of 20th‑century Catalan architecture, written from Piñón’s characteristic modernist and formalist perspective. The core themes are modernist continuity where Catalan architecture is seen as part of an international modern tradition rather than a regionalist exception, and an idea of Barcelona as a laboratory for disciplined architectural thinking.
The text is in Spanish. The book is illustrated with black-and-white photographs and some architectural drawings.
