The book opens with an extensive outlook on the architectural scene in Germany, Britain, The Netherlands, France, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Scandinavia, Spain and Portugal. It then presents 13 architectural practices in more detail. The offices included are Oswald Matias Ungers, Gottfried Böhm, Norman Foster, James Stirling/Michael Wilford, Rem Koolhaas, Christian de Portzamparc, Aldo Rossi, Vittorio Gregotti, Hans Hollein, Gustav Peichl, Coop Himmelblau, Joseph Martorell/Oriol Bohigas/David Mackay and Jose Rafael Moneo. Each architectural practice is introduced with 2–4 key works.

The texts are in English, French and German. The projects have been presented with good quality colour photos and some architectural drawings.
