The Design in Finland 1985 magazine showcases Finnish architecture and design from the colourful and powerful era of postmodernism. The Design in Finland yearbook series was part of the export promotion campaigns of the Finnish Foreign Trade Association (currently Finpro) between 1961 and the 1990s. The publication summarises the best products of the participating design companies and offers media coverage for their advertisements.

This particular issue presents, for example, Reima and Raili Pietilä’s Shore Palace project in Kuwait, the new Guyline 95 yacht, new Finnish furniture design and fashion and examples of industrial design for medicine and commerce. For those interested in postmodernism and the history of Finnish design, this magazine offers a direct access to the aesthetics of the 1980s.
