El Croquis 158 issue showcases the architectural practice of John Pawson (b. 1940), a British architect whose work is labelled by haptic sensitivity and utmost minimalism. The issue introduces Pawson’s office and their stunning international production between 2006–2011
The issue includes an essay by Julie V. Iovine who presents John Pawson as a critical minimalist. The El Croquis 158 issue also contains a conversation between Pawson and Iovine as well as Juhani Pallasmaa‘s essay “Matter, hapticity and time”. The showcased projects include private houses, pavilions, landscape projects and many other developments. As in all El Croquis issues, the projects have been lavishly illustrated with colour photographs and architectural drawings.
