This book was published in conjunction with an art exhibition “Henry Moore: Kuvanveiston ja arkkitehtuurin vuorovaikutus – Växelverkan mellan skulptur och arkitektur – The Challenge of Architecture” that was on display at the Didrichsen Musem of Art and Culture in Helsinki between 9 February and 28 September 2008. The book studies the British artist Henry Moore (1898–1986) and the relationship between his art and the built environment.

The lavishly illustrated book consists of expert articles written by David Mitchinson and Anita Feldman from the Henry Moore Foundation, and Sarah Stanners, art historian, PhD from the University of Toronto. David Mitchinson presents the historical details from Moore’s prolific career. Anita Feldman discusses the architectural aspects of Moore’s public art and his experimental collaboration with architects. Sarah Stanner’s article focuses on the collaboration between Moore and architect Viljo Revell and the making of the monument The Archer (1964-65) for the Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto. The book concludes with Moore’s biography and a list of works. The texts are in Finnish, Swedish and English.
