Industrial Design – Reflection of a Century (ed. Jocelyn de Noblet; Flammarion/APCi, 1993) is a comprehensive exhibition book about the design history and develpment of 20th-century consumer items. The book was published in conjunction with a major show at the Grand Palais, Paris between 19 May and 25 July 1993.

Every single thing made by man or woman since the beginning of time has been designed. In otehr words, some thought, usually combined with basic instinct, has occured in the decision-making process to decide how the object should work and how it should look. The history of the world can be documented by the design of objects and the study of these objects gives a clear message about the changes that were taking place in society.
– Sir Terence Conran, Industrial Design – Reflection of a Century (ed. Jocelyn de Noblet; Flammarion/APCi, 1993), excerpt from Foreword

The text is in English. The book is richly illustrated with photographs and other visual material.

Our copy in stock is an ex-library copy in relatively good condition. There are some usual stamps and markings on the flyleaves, but the pages are clean and the binding is firm. The dust jacket has seen better days. A big tear has been taped, but there are a couple of smaller tears.
