Mario Botta (b. 1943) is best known for his strong geometrical form language that – especially in his designs for private villas – have a highly articulated relation with the surrounding landscape.

The book includes an introductory essay La pazienza delle cose / The Patience of Things by Francesco Dal Co as well as a comprehensive analysis of the key elements in Botta’s architectural thinking by Mirko Zardini. The selection of works – which includes private houses, public buildings, furniture design and much more – have been edited by Mercedes Daguerre and Riccardo Blume. The book concludes with a concise anthology of reviews edited by Sergio Polano and a summary of Botta’s biographical details and list of works.
