Sauna

The Sauna book by Klaus P. Scheid tells about the architecture of typical Finnish saunas and gives some fine examples of modernist Finnish architecture. These examples include a holiday sauna by Einari Teräsvirta, the Johnson Wax sauna building in Wisconsin, US, by Viljo Revell, the sauna at Villa Mairea by Alvar Aalto and much more. The texts are in German; the illustration consists of black&white photographs, plans, sections and detail drawings.

The copy in stock is in okay condition for its age. It has obviously been studied, there’s even a little sketch of a plan drawn to one of the pages. The covers also show some wear and the pages have yellowed on their edges. Besides these faults, the book is perfectly usable.
