Team Zoo: Buildings and Projects 1971–1990 is a monograph of the loosely formed, heterogeneous Japanese group ‘Team Zoo’ and their architectural history. The author is Mandred Speidel, Professor of Architecture at the Institute of Technology in Aachen, Germany.

The richly illustrated book presents a survey of the group’s development into their ‘Ateliers’ and examines a selection of their most dynamic work. Speidel also discusses the situation in the 1970s Japanese architecture in general, most notably the role of Takamasa Yoshizaka, Professor of Architecture at Waseda University, and his interpretation of Le Corbusier’s prototypical architectural designs. Besides Speidels analysis, there is also an article by Patrice Goulet titled “Wild and uncertain times: Team Zoo’s savoir-faire”. The texts are in English.
