Beyond Media 2009: Visions

Visions is a catalogue of the 9th edition of Beyond Media International Festival for Architecture and Media. The festival explored the relations between contemporary architecture and communications and film as a means of architectural presentation technique. The 2009 festival was held in Florence, Italy, in July 2009 and presented 80 video works selected out of over 600 submissions.

The copy in stock is in very good condition. There is only some barely visible signs of yellowing on the edges of the pages and some tiny scratches and a couple of specks of dirt on the cover.

Visions is a catalogue of the 9th edition of Beyond Media International Festival for Architecture and Media. The festival explored the relations between contemporary architecture and communications and film as a means of architectural presentation technique. The 2009 festival was held in Florence, Italy, in July 2009 and presented 80 video works selected out of over 600 submissions. The Beyond Media festival was organized by Image, a Florence-based group of architects, historians and researchers active in the field of communication in architecture.

The book presents the video works with still images and short introductions. In addition, there is an introduction by Paola Ricco and the Symposium keynote speeches by Francisco Sanin and Pietro Valle. The book concludes with Roberto Zancan’s review of the film Koolhaas HouseLife screened at the festival and an article for the exhibition Environmental Mediation. On Environments and Counter Environments: Experimental Media in Italy:  The New Domestic Landscape, MoMa 1972.
