Carlos Ferrater (Catálogos de Arquitectura Contemporánea / Current Architecture Catalogues, Editorial Gustavo Gili 1989/1992) gives a concise introduction to the Barcelonian architect. Introduction by William J.R. Curtis.
This catalogue of the work of the architect Carlso Ferrater (Barcelona, 1944) gives a chronological summary of the projects carried out between 1974 and 1989. Within this period we can see the evolution of a body of work which, while strongly rooted in elements which recall José Antonio Coderch, has moved towards an architecture which is richer in detail but has not forgotten the constant presence of the Mediterranean it looks out on. From his earliest projects in l’Estartit (Girona), confronting the need to bring new solutions to the theme of the house by the sea, through to the latest schemes in Sant Just Desvern and Barcelona with their contemporary urban vision, this architect’s work has been extensively covered in the architectural press in Spain itself and internationally.
