El Lissitzky 1929 Rußland: Architektur für eine Weltrevolution (Verlag Ullstein GmbH 1930/1965) presents the Constructivist program for the Soviet Republic. The editor is Ulrich Conrads, and the book was issued as number 14 in the Bauwelt Fundamente series.
The book presents El Lissitzky’s manifesto and then, as an extensive appendix, El Lissitzky’s biography, a collection of his programmatic texts 1921–1926, and some additional Constructivist texts by, for example, Bruno Taut, Hannes Meyer, Ernst May, and M. J. Ginsburg.
The text is in German. The book has been richly illustrated with black-and-white photographs and architectural drawings.
The copy in our stock is in nice condition. The pages are clean without any markings, and the glueing of the binding is fine. There is some age-related yellowing on the edges of the pages, and the covers show some shelf wear, edge wear and signs of use.
