Motiivi ja metodi – Motiv och metod
Professor, PhD Henrik Lilius (b. 1939) is undoubtebly one of the most accomplished and esteemed Finnish art historians. This special edition in the publication series of The Society for Art History in Finland celebrates Lilius’s 60th anniversary.
Motiivi ja metodi – Motiv och metod [Motif and Method] contains a collection of Lilius’s seminal essays and his full bibliography. The topics range from the preservation of buildings to the Renaissance stucco decorations in Villa Lante al Gianiclo at the Finnish Institute in Rome. His writing serves as an example of how to combine the beautiful use of language with scholarly precision and analytic thinking. Some of the essays are in Finnish, some of them are in Swedish, English or German. The essays have been illustrated with some black & white photographs and diagrams.
The item on sale is a soft-cover publication which is in very good condition. The only signs of wear are on the front cover which has a tendency to bend and some minor erosion on its edges.
