Rationalism and Romanticism in Architecture, by Wojciech G. Lesnikowski (McGraw-Hill Companies, 1982), is a critical inquiry into the two theoretical traditions and their influence on architectural design. The study proceeds in a chronological order, starting from the Gothic and the Renaissance and concluding with postmodernism.
The text is in English. The book is illustrated with black-and-white drawings.
Our copy is in nice condition. The pages are clean; no markings except for the previous owner’s stamp on the first flyleaf. There is some toning on the edges of the pages. The glueing of the binding is fine. The covers show some traces of shelf wear and use: for instance, the corners of the front cover curl upwards.
