The Future of Cities (eds. Andrew Blowers, Chris Hamnett, and Philip Sarre; Hutchinson Educational, The Open University Press, 1974) is a collection of readings debating urban utopias and modern challenges of 20th century urbanism. Contributions by Thomas More, Le Corbusier, Frank Lloyd Wright, Ebenezer Howard, Kevin Lynch, Peter Hall, Alvin Toffler, Christopher Alexander, and many more.

This collection of readings draws on material from a wide range of sources – from the past and present and from literature and technology – and is concentrated on the areas which seem most relevant to the planning of the future city – what is happening to the city and what we can do about it.
