The Language of Architecture by Sven Hesselgren (Studentlitteratur 1967) is an English translation of Hesslegren’s doctoral thesis from 1954.
It is the purpose of this book to analyse [the] ‘language of architecture’ in the hope that such an analysis may make a contribution to a more effective approach to architectural problems, an approach which will not only incorporate experience and intuition, but which will replace superstition by conscious knowledge based on scientific research.
