The Poetics of Space by Gaston Bachelard (Beacon Press 1958/1969) analyzes the poetic image and the power of linguistic expression through spatial vocabulary. The book is a deeply philosophical and poetic exploration of how we experience intimate spaces – like homes, rooms, drawers, nests, and corners – not just physically, but emotionally and imaginatively. The foreword is by Etienne Gilson.

Our copy in stock is in nice condition. The pages are clean, no markings except for some small pencil markings on the first flyleaf. There is some toning on the edges of the pages. The glueing of the binding is fine. The covers show some traces of shelf wear and use, and there are some remains of a sticker on the front cover.
