L’Architecture Vivante: Urbanisme – Projects, Plans et Réalisations by François C. Morand (Éditions Albert Morancé, 1956, 1st edition) gives a fascinating glimpse towards the ideals of town planning at the end of the 1950s.
The book presents new urban developments from France, USA, Sweden,Denmark, Belgium, Canada, Columbia, Peru, UK, Poland, Switzerland and Italy. The illustrations in Urbanisme – Projects, Plans et Réalisations consist of black-and-white photos, architectural drawings and master plans. The project architects include Le Corbusier, Frank Lloyd Wright, Magnus Stephensen, Sven Backström and many more.
The copy in stock is an ex-library copy with the normal library stamps and markings. The book’s condition is quite good, however. The pages show some yellowing on their edges, but the plastic-wrapped hard covers and the spiral binding are fine.
