Aluminium in Architecture & Decoration is the year 1937 catalogue of the British Aluminium Company Ltd. The spiral-bound volume shows a selected number of examples of the uses of aluminium for architectural and decorative purposes. The examples are showcased with sepia-coloured black&white photographs and short captions about the product specifications.
The showcased projects highlight beautiful art deco details such as doors, windows, frames, lift enclosures, balustrades, screens and grilles, and shop fronts. The examples are from a variety of interiors: the Queen Mary observation lounge and cocktail bar, the staircase in De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill-on-Sea (architects Mendehlsohn & Chermayeff); or the air conditioning grille in the Broadcast House in Johannesburg.
The copy in stock is an ex-library copy. The art deco style cover has suffered some minor damage, but the pages are clean and tidy.
