Architecture in Context: Helin Workshop is a monograph about Pekka Helin and Helin & Co Architects, one of the leading Finland-based architectural firms. The book has been complied by Peter Davey with a contribution by Riitta Nikula, Professor Emerita in art history.
The book presents a variety of projects from Pekka Helin’s long career: private villas, houses, apartment buildings, urban developments and areal plans as well as administrative and office buildings. The rich illustration consists of colour photographs and architectural drawings. The book also contains an introduction to the Helin & Co practice and a chronological catalogue of works.
Helin & Co’s buildings exude integrity and gentle authority: quiet, thoughtful, humane but tough – thoroughly Finnish.
