Construction and Design Manual: School Buildings is a comprehensive reference book about school architecture and the pedagogical requirements of places of learning and teaching. The book has been edited by Natascha Meuser with contributions by Hans Wolfgang Hoffmann, Thomas Müller and Jochem Schneider.
The authors discuss building typologies, organisational models and development trends and presents more than 30 examples of architecturally exemplary international school buildings. The contents have been thematised into Theory and History, Primary Schools, Secondary Schools, and Special Schools. There’s also a specific section about architectural details and design parameters such as safety and security, school library, open areas and gyms and so forth.
As in all volumes of the DOM Publisher’s Construction and Design Manual series, the book has been illustrated with large-format photographs and detailed architectural drawings. The text is in English.
Our copy currently in stock is in good condition. The covers show some shelf wear, but otherwise, the book is clean and tidy.
