Farbstoffe für Kleider-Färberei: Verzeichniss der für die nachfolgenden Färbungen verwendeten Frarbstoffe (alphabetisch geordnet) und ihre verwendungweise für die vershciedenen Materialen (Actien Gesellschaft für Anilin-Fabrikation AGFA n.d.) is a manual that gives detailed recipes for fabric dyeing with aniline dyes. There is no information about the publisher or publishing date printed on the book, but the book presumably dates back to the mid-1910s.
The text is in German. The pages have attached fabric samples along with their dyeing specifications.
Our current copy has been in heavy use but remains in usable condition. The pages are toned but mostly clean; a few stains occur; no markings. The title page has been stamped by Osakeyhtiö Mercantile, Tampere / Aktiebolager Mercantile, Tammerfors, both in Finnish and Swedish. There is also a call card in-between the pages by Porvoon Uusi-Värjäämö dyeing workshop in Porvoo, Finland. These details indicate that the book has been in professional use. The binding is surprisingly fine for the book’s age. The covers have been toned and worn.
