Nuevas Formas de Finlandia is a catalogue for an exhibition on Finnish architecture and design in 1990. The exhibition was organised by the Museum of Finnish Architecture and The Finnish Society of Crafts and Design, and it was on display in Spain at the Museo Español de Arte Contemporáneo in Madrid, Centro de Diseño Industrial, S.A. in Bilbao and Fundación BCD in Barcelona.
The catalogue language is Spanish and it showcases latest projects and designs from the late 1980s in the fields of architecture, industrial design, furniture design, glassware, ceramics, jewellery, textile design, clothing, and graphic design.
The book also contains Tapio Periäinen’s introduction to the general ideology of Finnish design and a Spanish translation of the article Modern tradition (La Tradizione Moderna). The authorship of this text has been, incorrectly, addressed to Suomi Rakentaa which is the Finnish title of the prime national exhibition series Finland Builds. The article is a translation of Colin St John Wilson’s introduction to the 7th Finland Builds exhibition which was published in English, Finnish and Swedish in 1986.
The copy in stock is in nice condition. The soft black covers show some shelf wear and there are a couple of pencil markings on the pages.
