The New Wood Architecture by Naomi Stungo presents 31 buildings that exemplify increased environmental awareness in architecture of the 1990s.
The examples include a variety of projects: private houses, an Olympic hall, a textile museum, a painter’s studio, a theatre and many more. The contents have been divided into five themes: The New Aesthetic, Structural Possibilities, Green Buildings, Relating to Nature, and Vernacular Updated. The projects in The New Wood Architecture have been designed by architectural practices such as Herzog + Partner, Tadao Ando, Baumschlager & Eberle, Philippe Starck, and Architype.
