Urban Guide Helsinki presents the urban values and the developments of the cityscape of Helsinki. The guidebook was published by the Helsinki City Planning Department in 2006.
The guidebook opens with a brief history of Helsinki and its environs and gives an outlook to the city’s urban structure, population, activities and other facilities in the early 2000s. The contents analyse urban entities such as the Suomenlinna Sea fortress, the commercial centre and the old urban districts. The book also showcases Helsinki urban features such as streets and parks, and the new areas under construction or under planning.
The texts are in English and the rich illustration consists of maps and colour photographs.
