Architectural Design issue 1-2/1980: New Free Style focuses on Arts & Crafts, Art Nouveau and Secession movements in architecture and design. This issue is also the 50th anniversary issue of the Architectural Design magazine.
Besides the extensive survey of the architecture produced around the turn of the 20th century, there are also contemporary articles and project reviews such as the review the Islamic Cultural Centre of Italy in Rome by Paolo Portoghesi and Vittorio Gigliotti. The project description is by the architects, the commentary has been written by Charles Jencks.
The text is in English. The magazine is richly illustrated with colour and black-and-white photographs and architectural drawings.
The copy in our stock is in okay condition. The covers are a bit worn out, and their colours have been somewhat faded, but the binding is still fine. The pages are clean and without markings.
