Focus on Finnish 20th-Century Architecture and Town Planning is a selected collection of essays, conference papers, lectures and articles written by Riitta Nikula, Professor Emerita in Art History at the University of Helsinki. Nikula is an expert in early Finnish modernism, the development of modern housing design and the history of Finnish town planning.
The book contains 11 papers published between 1990 and 2006, and it is essential reading for both students and scholars alike. The topics range from the development of townscape legislation and the making of the international image of Finnish architecture to portraits of influential architects such as Camillo Sitte and Bertil Jung.
