Helsingin kasvot – The Faces of Helsinki is a photography book about the façades of Helsinki buildings. The viewpoint is not an aesthetic one, but architectural and historical. The contents have been divided in the manner of traditional art history into stylistic periods ranging from the 18th-century rococo classicism to postmodernism and late modernism of the 1990s. The texts discuss developments in building technology, artistic ambitions, and city planning in the general framework of the developments of Finnish society.

The copy for sale is in nice condition. There is some usual shelf wear typical to a soft cover book of its age, but otherwise, there are no significant faults.
