A monograph of Fernando Menis (b. 1951), a Spanish architect who works and lives in Tenerife, the Canary Islands. Menis is renowned for his expressive use of concrete and stone and sculptural, volumetric compositions. As introduced by Barry Bergdoll, Menis’s global architectural production represent the ideal of geological architecture that is in dialogue with the landscape and materials of the Canaries. The book showcases Menis’s architectural ideas through selected projects from all areas of architectural design: landscape and urbanism, cultural buildings, sports and conference venues, and housing projects.
The text is in English and Spanish. The book was published by Archlife in 2011, and it is lavishly illustrated with architectural photographs and drawings. For more information of Fernando Menis Architects, please visit the office home page at menis.es.
