Modern House 2 by Clare Melhuish presents a curated set of architecturally innovative houses. The book was published by Phaidon in 2000 (our copy is the reprint edition from 2001) and it’s a follow-up to Modern House from 1993. The book contains descriptions, architectural drawings and colour photographs of 30 houses from all over the world. The contents are organised thematically into five sections: Environmental Awareness; Changing Patterns of Living; Urban Interaction; The Rural Retreat; and Concept Houses of the Future. The architects include Glenn Murcutt, Herzog & de Meuron, Future Systems, MVRDV, Rem Koolhaas and many more.
Our copy of Modern House 2 in stock is in good condition. The dust jacket is clean and undamaged except for some minor shelf wear. The first front flyleaf has a cut as the previous owner’s bookplate has been removed.
