Beton als Gestalter, by Julius Vischer and Ludwig Hilberseimer (Julius Hoffmann 1928), is an early study of the use of reinforced concrete in modern architecture. The book was issued in the series Die Baubücher Band, number 5. The contents discuss the use of concrete and its architectural characteristics, with illustrated examples from architectural history. The majority of the book is devoted to showcasing contemporary architectural examples of all kinds.
The text is in German. The book is profusely illustrated with black-and-white photographs and architectural drawings.
Our current copy is in good condition for its age. The pages are clean with no markings except for the previous owner’s signature on the first flyleaf. There is some slight toning on the edges of the pages as well as on the covers. The glueing of the binding is still fine. The covers show only some minor traces of shelf wear and use.
