Regenerating Urban Core explores urban architecture from a regenerative viewpoint. How to support vibrancy without losing local identity of urban cores? How can culture become a key factor in regeneration? What is the role of housing in urban cores? For whom should urban cores be redeveloped?
The book is a result of the 14th international Summer School held by the YTK/IFHP Urban Planning and Design Summer School at Helsinki University of Technology in 2008. The course collaborated with the Centre for Urban and Regional Studies, International Federation of Housing and Planning, and the cities of Turku and Jyväskylä. Regenerating Urban Core presents the results of the case studies, and disseminates new theoretical knowledge about the challenges of urban renewal.
The copy in stock is in nice condition. The covers show some shelf wear, but the pages, except for some minor yellowing on the edges, are clean and tidy.
